Builds a personalized four-tab federal and state estate-tax projection workbook (EstateTaxImpactSummary.xlsx) from a user's own asset inventory, ownership structure, and domicile, with live formulas for gross estate, deductions, tentative tax, unified credit, and state exposure — all assumptions clearly labeled. Use when an individual, estate planner, or CPA needs a one-time working estate-tax projection to review before or after a major life event (marriage, inheritance, relocation, or a law change like a federal exemption sunset).

Questions
What do I need to provide to get my workbook built?
An asset inventory (description, ownership type, value, basis), state of domicile, and marital status/spouse citizenship. If you have debts, prior gifts, or a DSUE amount, include those too. Anything missing is defaulted and listed plainly in the reader note.
What happens if I don't know some of my numbers, like an asset's value or my state of domicile?
It never leaves cells blank or inserts placeholders. Unknown values use a labeled midpoint or conservative estimate; unknown domicile defaults to a federal-only projection with state analysis flagged as skipped. All assumptions are stated plainly in a reader note, ending with "Complete" or "Needs input: N item(s)."
What exactly is in the workbook I receive?
EstateTaxImpactSummary.xlsx with four tabs: Asset Valuation (itemized assets with ownership and basis logic), Federal Estate Tax Projection (gross estate through net tax due, full bracket table), State Tax Snapshot (state-specific exposure and flags like the NY cliff), and Recommendations (narrative tied to your actual numbers plus a disclosure).
Can I edit my numbers after I get the file, or is it locked?
Yes. All input cells are editable and formula cells recalculate live, so changing an asset value or exemption figure updates the whole projection. The workbook is fully unprotected — nothing is password-locked.
How is this different from just asking my assistant a question about estate tax?
It produces an actual editable spreadsheet with linked formulas mirroring Form 706 line structure, not a text answer. It applies the current bracket table, ownership and basis rules, and state-tax distinctions per asset, and clearly labels every assumption instead of giving a one-off narrative response.
